Use the Product Variants tab in Shop configurations to control how child products inherit data from their parent and how variants appear in the catalog and on product pages.
Steps
In the navigation, select Shop configurations. The Shop configuration page opens.
Select the Product Variants tab. The Product Variants tab opens.
Under Child attributes, select which attributes apply to variant child products. Choose Parent to inherit the parent's attributes, Own to use attributes defined on the child, or Both to combine them.
Under Child packages, select Parent to use the parent's packages for child products, or Own to use packages defined on the child.
Under Child prices, select Parent to use the parent's prices for child products, or Own to use prices defined on the child.
Under Default variant, select Yes to designate one child product as the default selection for its parent, or No to leave no default.
Under Preselect variant, select Yes to highlight the default child product when the parent page loads. Select No to require the customer to choose a variant first.
Under Show variant price, select Yes to display the default child product's price and an Add to cart button on product list cards. Select No to require the customer to select options before a price or add-to-cart action appears.
Make at least one change before selecting Save. On the initial configuration form, Save is unavailable. Select Save. To discard all unsaved changes across all tabs, select Cancel instead.
Result
Variant behavior takes effect across the catalog and product pages. Child products inherit or use their own attributes, packages, and prices according to your selections. The default and preselect settings determine what customers see when they land on a parent product page. The show-variant-price setting controls what appears on product list cards.
