In the Admin Panel, use the create form on Sorting sources to enter a name, product property and sorting direction. The sort orders you configure are the ones a catalogue page offers in its sort dropdown. Shoppers get sorting choices only when at least one sorting source exists.
Steps
In the Admin Panel menu, open Sorting sources.
On Sorting sources, select CREATE. The Create Sorting sources form opens.
In Name, enter a name for the sorting source. Name is required.
In Product property, select a value. Products are sorted by the property you select. Products can also be sorted by how much of them is in stock.
Optional: In Label, select a value.
In Sorting Direction, select the direction. With a stock sort, choose ascending for low stock first, or descending for high stock first. If out-of-stock products are configured to appear last and stock is not synced live, in-stock products come first. In that case, the selected sorting direction applies within each stock group.
Select Save. On the empty form, Save is unavailable. Save becomes available after you change field values.
Result
The sorting source is one of the sort orders a catalogue page can offer in its sort dropdown.
